Taxes
Washington kicked the Brits’ asses
To end unfair taxes
Heroes like Jackson and Farragut
Stopped the Brits from reinstating
Taxes, most forgot
Then came Lincoln with the income tax
He sure stuck it in our ass
Don’t forget WWI and WWII
With tax after tax, all new
To stop the domino effect in Viet Nam
Higher and higher taxes, Damn!
Sure sounds dumb
Taxing our income
But it doesn’t stop there
And the government doesn’t care!
Taxed by our state
Don’t file late
Our money taxed by the county
Depletes our bounty
We are even taxed by
Our beloved city
Oh what a pity
They tax our smokes
Even food like artichokes
Tax on our cars, telephones, gasoline, oh gee
But is it necessary
Not my cable TV!
